Wilma - March 18th, 2006
I give you this one to keep
. . .
I am with you still . .
. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that
blow.
I am the diamond glints
on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened
grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's
hush,
I am the swift, uplifting
rush
of quiet birds in circled
flight.
I am the soft stars that
shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone
. . .
I am with you still . .
. in each new dawn.

My beautiful baby girl left
me to be with her mom. I can only now imagine her
running like the wind with her beautiful long tail streaming out behind
her.
Wilma left behind her legacy, so many of you would not have the dogs you
have if it
weren't for Wilma. She loved everyone she ever met, she was the most loving
mom
and she was my best buddy, we were always together. Wilma was a founding
member of
the Black Sheep Squadron flyball team... her team is now all together again,
she was
the constant height dog. She loved flyball but her passion was agility.
She always amused
people when she would stand on her hind legs to watch the dogs ahead of
her at
a trial run "her" course. She was a true ambassador for the Border
Collie.
Right now it's hard to imagine
the days ahead without her sweet face nuzzling
up to me every morning and every night, her spot on the bed empty, her
nipping
at my butt when we would head back inside from the yard, her scream of
glee
when she would hear the click of the flashlight knowing she could get the
beam,
her big woof when I would change the kitchen garbage bag, her attack on
the vacuum, her constant stalking of "the cat", her kisses,
her always waiting for me at the door....
Run like the wind again
my beautiful baby girl... my heart goes with you...
...I can still see you through my tears...
